100% renewable energy
As of 1st July this year, Totem.com.pl is using only 100% renewably sourced energy.
This is one of the elements of the philosophy our printing house follows, where we are striving to operate exercising the greatest care possible for the environment and natural resources. We have been minimizing the negative impact that production of books has on the world around us for many years now. We believe that, as far as our future is concerned, even the smallest actions matter, yielding measurable benefits for nature. We use eco-friendly materials, reduce usage of foil in our production processes, and prefer energy-saving printing systems. Using 100% green energy fits in with the vision of an environmentally friendly business not indifferent to the fate of our planet.
We have signed our energy supply contract with Respect Energy which collaborates in Poland with a group of 450 electric energy manufacturers. Respect Energy, a wholly Polish-owned company, is the only energy supplier in Poland to offer a 100% green energy mix from renewable sources (hydropower, photovoltaics, as well as wind and biogas power plants).
Our collaboration with Respect Energy means that Totem.com.pl will be able to reduce emissions by as much as 1 530 000 kg of CO2 per annum.
